In December 2022, Celine Dion revealed that she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that features of an autoimmune disease2. Celine Dion shared her health condition in a touching video on Instagram, saying: "I’ve always been an open book. I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now. I’ve been dealing with health issues for a long time. It’s been very hard for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through"
Currently, there is no cure for Stiff Person Syndrome, but people with the disorder can take medication or therapy to reduce their symptoms3. Celine Dion said that she has "a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better"2. Her sister, Claudette Dion, also said that Celine Dion is "listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible"
